Gloucester Road has alway been a busy shopping area in Bristol and Anti Apartheid set up stalls a number of times to raise public awareness about on-going events in South Africa. There were sessions to sign petitions as well as letter writing campaigns to put pressure on the government about the repressive regime and their policies regarding political prisoners, executions and the practice of detention.
