Emlyn Road, 1932

This photo shows the view from Emlyn Road, facing north towards the Eastville Workhouse which can be seen at the end of the road. The photo was submitted by local resident Mrs Kendall, whose grandfather took the picture in 1932. As the Workhouse was demolished in the 1970s, green spaces can nowadays be seen at the end of the street. Moreover, without any cars parked in the street, it is striking how wide the street appears in the photo compared to today.
